Job Description
The Total Rewards team at Blue Cross North Carolina is looking for an analytical, technically savvy Benefits Analyst to serve our employee and retiree population of around 6,000.
This position is part of a cohesive team that provides administration and strategy for the company’s health, welfare, and retirement programs. Your expertise in corporate benefits can be put to work in program management and analysis for our employee benefits and perks.
- Administer employee benefit plans, and/or workplace health and safety programs.
- Develop and present communications to employees including plan and program materials, new hire orientations, and one-on-one consultations.
- Assist with the management and development of benefit plans by examining, evaluating, and optimizing employee understanding, acceptance, and interests, costs, regulatory requirements, and competitive advantage. Includes benchmarking design and best practices; researching market and industry trends; tracking legislation and estimating impacts.
- Assist with the evaluation of proposed employee benefit contracts by studying provisions and estimating impact.
- Maintain current knowledge of the company’s benefits policies while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and discretion and exceptional customer service to customers, both internal and external.
- Supports management planning and audit controls by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing existing plan and program data and trends.
- Assist with bi-weekly, monthly and annual data transfers to/from HR system and vendors
- Coordinate special projects, such as data clean-up, system upgrades, vendor changes, and data analysis.
Hiring Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree (where required)
- 3+ years of experience in related field.
- In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.
- Experience working in Workday is a big asset.
