Staffline are welcoming applications on behalf of the Louth Meath Education & Training Board (LMETB) for the role of the Programme Support Co-Ordinator for the Early Learning Childcare Programme (ELC.) This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive organisation who foster talent.
Responsibilities:
- Support LMETB FET in the roll out of QQI Level 5 and Level 6 ELC programmes with all relevant stakeholders; and for assistance with supporting other work-based learning initiatives, where required
- Act as key contact point with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure the input of results and processing of certification
- Support the implementation through all LMETB approved Colleges/centres for the delivery of the ELC programme and support implementation through contracted training
- Supplementary duties providing a support function for general work placement co-ordination within the ETB's FET service
- Responsible for the overall coordination and management of the programme within LMETB FET provision
- Work with relevant centre management to support the planning, delivery and evaluation of ELC awards at centre level
- Briefing teaching staff, centre/service managers, and QA staff on the new programme and supporting teaching staff in upskilling with the new module content, resources, etc.
- Compiling a list of the physical resources required (care and play related) for each centre
- Coordinating Childcare Community of Practice - setting up meetings, moderating content on Teams
- Work Experience - supporting teachers in relation to Professional Practice Placement. Possible Mentor for Professional Practice Placements (depending on volume)
- Employer Engagement - amongst Childcare employers in Louth and Meath regarding the new programme; new requirements in relation to professional practice placement, and what is expected of employer; and establishing training needs of employers/employees
- Development of support material for centres and learners in the implementation of the Professional Practice Placement
- Supporting collaboration between centres to ensure consistent standards in assessment across all provision and uniformity of approach in delivery
- Act as Monitor for learners on work placement to include linking with Supervisors, Teaching staff in centres and supporting learners on their placement
- Any other duties relevant to the needs of the post as determined by management from time to time based on the needs of the programme and the centres
Criteria:
- Have the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies to carry out the role
- Be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high standard
- A recognised qualification in Early Learning and Care in line with the requirements detailed in the Professional and Award Type Descriptor (PATD) Or a third level qualification of at least National Certificate standard in the field of education or training, youthwork, community development or social science, or a teaching qualification
- Experience in the area of Early Learning and Care
- Significant experience in adult education or training, community education, adult literacy, youth work or community development
- Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- A minimum of a NFQ Level 8 qualification in training, education, social science or within the area of access and socio- economic disadvantage is required
- Significant relevant work experience in Schools, FET or HEA environment is essential for this post
- Qualifications and demonstrated understanding of relevant Childcare, or other similar areas would be advantageous in this post
- An understanding of the sector and of the issues/challenges relating to ELC.
- A high level of experience and expertise in teaching and learning in ELC
- Knowledge of the ETB Further Education and Training sector
This is initially a 6 month temporary contract offering full time hours
