Material Handler

• Description:* The purpose of the material handler role is to be the primary indirect labor within the manufacturing facility, supporting all machining, welding, and assembly functions so that the direct labor in these production departments do not have to stop their value added activities.
• Must be able to verify quantities of products against production orders, receiving documents, or other documents.
• Moves materials from trucks to storage areas, storage areas to work cells, work cells to storage areas in accordance with needs.
• Deliver material to the proper location and place it in its correct bin location.
• Work in welding wash area cleaning and rinsing products.
• Perform tasks in assembly area as needed.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintains safe and well organized working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Wash work areas, machines, equipment, vehicles, and products.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.

Must be able to move loads extending longer than 72 inches.

• Reading Comprehension
• Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

Must be able to read and interpret Bills of Material to identify which materials to deliver to various production areas and when to do it. o

Must be able to verify quantities of products against production orders, receiving documents, or other documents.

• Production and Processing
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Knowledge of computers and relevant software applications
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, and ERP software.
