Position: Support Services Associate - Support Services Center - Full Time - Shift



Compensation



The estimated pay for this position is $18.1677 to $22.3438. The rates shown include a 6% premium pay (base= $-$ plus 6%). This reflects only a portion of the total compensation package for this position. Additional compensation may be available for this role through differentials, incentives, and bonuses. In addition, this position may be eligible for participation and company contributions into the Kern County Employees Retirement Plan.



Definition:



Under supervision functions as a member of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, answers requests for service, dispatches support services staff, processes work order requests and maintains and updates patient dietary information.





Essential Functions:



  • Answers telephone, pager and computer requests for service and dispatches appropriate staff in housekeeping, laundry, senior nutrition program and hospital transportation.

  • Coordinates employee coverage as necessary.

  • Runs daily diet census for meal count, linen usage and room cleaning.

  • Processes work order and equipment repair requests.

  • Labels menus with patient s name, room and diet; makes modifications to menu to conform to patient s diet prescription.

  • Maintains computerized patient dietary information; records and files all diet change information according to established procedures; communicates diet information in an accurate and timely manner to appropriate staff.

  • Generates production sheets; tallies additional menu requests and sends to kitchen.

  • Performs filing, copying and other basic clerical functions as required.

  • Attends department/hospital in-service orientation and other meetings as required.

  • Performs all functions in accordance with applicable hospital and governmental agency regulatory safety procedures and requirements.

  • Performs other job related functions as required.




EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:



Any combination of training and experience equivalent to one (1) year of work experience which would provide the following knowledge, skills and abilities.



Knowledge of:
Basic mathematics; proper English grammar and spelling; proper telephone etiquette.



Ability to:
read English; understand and follow oral and written instructions; communicate effectively; read, compare and verify information; learn basic hospital and governmental regulatory safety requirements and procedures; perform basic mathematical computations quickly and accurately; develop and maintain good customer relations; work closely and effectively in a team environment; work under minimal supervision; organize and accomplish tasks in a fast paced environment; learn computer use and keyboarding, and adapt to changes in schedule, work assignments and environment; interact, communicate and interview with and for patients, visitors and staff in the course of duties in regards to age specific consideration.
