We are seeking a skilled and experienced HR Generalist/Safety Specialist to join our team and manage all aspects of HR operations and safety compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's HR policies, procedures, and practices align with business objectives and comply with applicable laws and regulations. They will also develop and implement safety programs that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and promote a safe and healthy work environment.Responsibilities:HR Generalist:Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job posting, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making job offers.Manage employee onboarding, orientation, and training programs to ensure new hires are integrated into the organization and have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to HR, including labor laws, equal employment opportunity laws, and privacy laws.Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensure that HR systems and processes are efficient and effective.Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and disputes, and provide guidance and support to managers and employees.Develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies, including performance management, career development, and recognition and rewards programs.Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and foster a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusiveness.Manage HR budgets and resources, including staff and vendor relationships.Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and apply them to HR operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Safety Specialist:Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs that align with federal, state, and local safety regulations and promote a safe and healthy work environment.Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.Manage and maintain safety equipment and supplies, including first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and personal protective equipment.Conduct safety training programs for employees and managers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safety vestigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and ensure that safety systems and processes are efficient and effective.Collaborate with HR and other departments to develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans.Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies and apply them to safety operations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in human resources, safety management, or a related field. At least five years of progressive HR and safety management experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to HR and safety.Experience in recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Professional certifications in HR (e.g., SHRM) and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) preferred.This is a contract to hire role with an hourly pay rate of $25-$41/hr dependent on experience.
