Principle Responsibilities:
The Vice President of Supply Chain will be responsible for the overall management of clinical and commercial product supply at Coherus BioSciences. This role will manage the clinical and commercial supply chain from forecasting and production planning to label artwork, monitoring raw material/component inventories, logistics, storage, transportation qualification/validation and inventory control, ensuring Coherus' pharmaceutical products reach patients in a safe, compliant and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Lead supply chain groups focused on inventory management, logistics, trade compliance, clinical supply and label artwork to excel at achieving Coherus' strategic objectives.
  • Manage the supply chain functions for Coherus' current commercial products and the multiple new products expected to be commercialized in the next few years.
  • Devise and implement supply chain vision, strategic direction and resource requirements.
  • Direct the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • Drive forecast planning and inventory management of all drug products, both internal and acquired through commercial agreements.
  • Oversee product purchasing and planning at contract manufacturing organizations. This includes rolling forecasts for clinical and commercial products, as well as clinical packaging, label artwork, logistics and storage.
  • Manage and communicate Master Production Schedules internally and externally as appropriate.
  • Maintain key Supply Chain interfaces with Clinical Operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Sales & Marketing and FP&A.
  • Implement inventory policy and materials risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review and oversee Supply Agreements with vendors and partners.
  • Execute purchase orders for clinical and commercial DS, DP, devices and Finished Products.
  • Serve as the technical lead/SME for supply and distribution on Commercial Launch teams and in other forums.
  • Ensure key communications to internal stakeholders regarding logistics and scheduling.
  • Drive new supply chain initiatives, assign resources and provide strategic guidance.
  • Partner and collaborate with senior management to achieve and continually maintain maximum operational efficiency and intradepartmental coordination.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets for supply chain cost centers and assure maximum functional area output with minimum cost and resource burden.
  • implement quality improvements, Operational Excellence initiatives, business processes, budget analyses and cost reduction programs to ensure that the most effective practices are in place.
  • Prepare management reports, metrics, presentations and KPIs to measure and communicate functional area performance.
  • Provide expertise and oversight on the development, authorship, review and approval of regulatory submissions as they relate to packaging, labeling, shipping, storage and distribution of products and supplies.
  • Ensure that the supply chain function complies with corporate policies and follows accepted industry practices.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:

  • MS/BS degree or equivalent in engineering or life sciences.
  • Must have 15+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, leading supply chain functions for a biotechnology company.
  • Experience managing supply chain operations for commercial product launches, preferably for biologic products and biologic/device combination products.
  • Experience with negotiating commercial supply agreements and interfacing with third party manufacturers.
  • Must possess excellent knowledge of Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) for regulatory filings and detailed knowledge of cGMP requirements.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building, refining and scaling supply chain organizations.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
