About the Role 

Smith.ai, a startup founded by Ex-Googlers, connects remote-working live agents with artificial intelligence to deliver superior 24/7 virtual receptionists and online chat solutions to small and medium businesses. We are looking for experienced, dedicated, and hungry sales professionals to join our rapidly growing team. This person should have a proven track record of overperformance in an individual contributor sales role and experience thriving in a fast-moving startup environment. The Account Executive’s goal is to identify opportunities with prospects and build them into long-term profitable relationships. The AE is responsible for developing, managing, and closing new businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Position the value of Smith.ai’s technology & services along with the business impact this has on small and medium-sized businesses
  • Convert prospective clients to paying customers and identify future upselling opportunities
  • Effectively manage a pipeline of inbound and outbound leads to identify and develop relationships with potential buyers
  • Effectively communicate with prospects and customers through several channels including email, phone calls, and Zoom meetings.
  • Research and identify opportunities in new verticals and collaborate with our marketing team and various leaders to help define go-to-market strategy and messaging
  • Continuously gain product knowledge and contribute to Smith.ai’s ongoing improvements of products, operations, and teams
  • Portray your thinking, strategies, and ideas to drive forward our company’s values, culture, and vision

Desired skills & experience:

  • University or college degree in Business, Economics, Marketing or an acceptable combination of education and work experience
  • 3-5 years of sales/customer-facing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects into paying customers consistently achieving and exceeding your sales targets
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal 
  • Experience in a startup environment
  • Experience with CRMs and various sales technology
