The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.


 



RF Technical Specialist I



 



Perform complex project tasks of a specialized nature to support engineering development and production. Tasks may include advanced applications in complex mechanical, electrical, as well as RF assembly and test; difficult fabrication and assembly (wood, and metal); and logistics support (forklift, crane, and pallet jack). Tasks may require advanced application of technical theory and practical knowledge in the design, development, assembly, and test of a wide variety of RF products and systems. Duties are typically more responsibility-oriented versus task-oriented and performed with little to no oversight.  Individual must be a self-starter and well organized. 



 



What You’ll Do:



 




  • Test and troubleshoot RF and mechanical subsystems, components, instruments, for operational readiness, including maintenance or repair.

  • Perform limited design or CAD layouts for technical applications. Document flow diagrams or procedures.

  • Maintain electronic records, and reports in accordance with Ball Aerospace policies and procedures, and government regulations.

  • Review and accurately interpret schematics, drawings, specifications, and procedures for completeness and compliance requirements.

  • Review diverse data and collaborate on recommend actions to address unique and complex technical situations.

  • Provide advanced instruction and training on specialized procedures and techniques to other employees and may develop processes and procedures essential to specific projects.

  • Make continuous improvement suggestions, participate and lead such projects

  • Effectively communicate and have regular interaction with higher level management, customers, and internal / external auditors.

  • Work in team environment with engineers, taking direction and providing feedback on status in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company.  Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.



 



What You’ll Need:



 




  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 12 or more years of related experience or a two-year technical degree plus 10 or more years of related experience.

  • Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.




  • Demonstrated RF technical knowledge with the ability to support complex fabrication and assembly projects.

  • Demonstrated RF testing knowledge using network analyzers, RF ranges and other similar equipment.

  • Machining skills; fabrication and assembly with both wood (drill press, carpentry tools, saws, etc.) and metals (Mills, Lathe, etc.).

  • Demonstrated competency in using various hand-tools.

  • Basic knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office tools.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.



 



Full-Time On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site full-time. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

Compensation & Benefits:



 




  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $32.21 - $43.51 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
